Welcome to the Islamic Center of Richmond’s Funeral Services page. During times of loss and bereavement, our compassionate and experienced team is here to provide support, guidance, and assistance to families in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Procedures to Follow in the Event of a Death
Overview of the Funeral Process
- Please call Al Firdous Funeral Home at +1(866)347-9262.
- Provide the deceased person’s full name, gender, and location of the body to Al Firdous Funeral Home.
- Provide the responsible person’s (contact person’s) phone number and address to Al Firdous Funeral Home.
- The responsible person will meet with the Funeral Manager at Al Firdous Funeral Home to sign the contract, determine the timing and location of the Janazah Prayer, and decide on the burial site.
- The Funeral Manager at Al Firdous Funeral Home will coordinate the process with necessary entities including the Imam, Masjid Administration, the Ghusl/Shrouding team and the Muslim Cemetery.
- The Masjid Administration will notify the community of the Janazah salaat and burial details via email and WhatsApp announcements.
Services Provided by Al Firdous Funeral Home
- All Funeral Home Services will abide by Sunni Islamic Traditions
- Transferring the body of the deceased from the hospital to the funeral home.
- Use of the bathing (Ghusl) and shrouding room.
- Coordinating with all necessary entities including the Imam, Masjid Administration, the Ghusl/Shrouding team and the Muslim Cemetery.
- Transferring the deceased to the Masjid and then to the cemetery.
- The Funeral Manager will inform you of the cost of the above services

- Al Barzakh Cemetery located at 31058 Sadie Lane, Doswell, VA 23407.
- Crescent Memorial Graveyard (ICVA) located at 3411 Beechwood Ave., Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
Funeral Prayers at the Masjid
Funeral prayers will be held at a Masjid of choice after daily prayers. It is usually scheduled after Dhuhr or the Jumu’ah prayer, followed by an immediate departure to the cemetery.

- Islamic Center of Virginia
- Masjid Rahman
Funeral-related Costs
The total expenses of the funeral services consist of:
- The cost of the services at Al Firdous Funeral Home and
- The cost of the burial services at the Cemetery
